Except for the final to do list which involves confirmations, delivering items to studios, and picking stuff up for the reception, we’re ready to go! The focus right now is on getting the word out so that people find out about this historical first studio tour.
Feedback so far has been really positive – people are glad that something like this is happening in Reseda. Quite a few artists who didn’t hear about the open call have contacted us to ask how they can participate (we’ve started a list for 2015!) and Reseda is starting to feel some more pride in itself.
It’s too late to order tickets through the mail so you can either order them online and pick them up at 11:11 on Saturday, or wait until Saturday to get your map and wrist band at 11:11. The tour is bike friendly. Studios and venues will be open from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. but the tour itself won’t take 6 hours. There are 19 actual stops on the map. If you plan on seeing everything, give yourself at least 4 hours, including lunch (please be sure to have lunch at one of three of Reseda’s restaurants and don’t forget to show your wrist band for a 10% discount – Fab Hot Dogs, Aura’s Exquisit Foods, and CoCo D’Nuts – addresses are on the map). After the studios close at 4 p.m., rest up and then head over to 11:11 for the closing reception. This will give you a chance to meet the various teams responsible for putting this tour together – the Reseda Renaissance, Arts in Education Aid Council, 11:11 A Creative Collective, and the Academy of Arts and Technology at Cleveland High School.
